An opportunity has arisen for a Programme Operations and Learning Manager to join our Programme Systems and Monitoring team. The team’s purpose is to work collaboratively across the organisation to strengthen programme delivery through effective monitoring, oversight. learning, and reporting. This role can either be located in the UK at our headquarters in Haywards Heath or out of Country Office in Cameroon.
Reporting into the Head of Programme Systems and Monitoring you will be responsible for working closely with Sightsavers Ireland and Global Country Team to deliver Irish Aid Programme Grant II which is a collection of projects spanning Cameroon, Sierra Leone, Liberia and Senegal. The projects cover 5 thematic areas: Eye Health, Neglected Tropical Diseases, Political Participation of people with Disabilities, Inclusive Education of Children with Disabilities and the Capacity Building of Southern Partners.
The main components of this role’s mandate will be to:
- Co-ordinate key programme management processes run by Sightsavers Ireland and Global & Country teams.
- Deliver key programme management processes run by the Programme Systems and Monitoring Team (PSMT).
- Lead on programmatic learning.
- Provide coordination & technical support to Country Offices on the Capacity Building of Southern Partners.
- Ensure the programme complies with donor benchmarks and organizational processes.
You will be a creative and highly collaborative development professional with excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills. You will be able to balance attention to detail with an understanding of the bigger picture and use this knowledge to effectively support the programme’s delivery.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience in programme cycle management with particularly strong skills in budgeting, capacity building and monitoring, evaluation and learning (MEL). Experience of working on a donor-funded, multi-country programme within an international development sector role is highly advantageous. Sound knowledge of Microsoft products is essential as you will be expected to produce quantitative and qualitative oversight reports. Finally, proven ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders is key.
Fluency in French is highly desirable and a willingness to travel up to 12 weeks per year on various trips globally is essential.
