Description
The Cameroon Local Evaluator is responsible for collecting data from focus groups, interviews, surveys, and written documents, collaboratively analyzing data, and drafting 2 short case studies using a template provided. The evaluation is focused on assessing the quality and impact of 2 UNAOC Youth Solidarity Fund (YSF) projects in Cameroon and the quality of support the projects received from YSF.
Responsibilities
Desk review of key documents
Help draft surveys, and focus group and interview questions in English
Translate data collection tools and key information from English to French and translate key data from French to English
Coordinate data collection via email, phone, Skype, text, WhatsApp and/or other means
Collect data from surveys, focus groups, interviews, and documents
Support the analysis, validation, reporting and visual presentation of primary data collections
Draft 2 case studies of approximately 7 pages in length each based on the data collected and analyzed from 2 projects
Qualifications
Excellent English and French written and oral communications skills
Consistent access to the internet, a personal computer and a phone. A recording device and camera is needed for data collection and a smartphone may be used for this.
At least two (2) years of related professional experience, working independently and in a team.
Must be able to use Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, and Forms
Strong project management, organizational, and administrative skills
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel) or Google Sheets
Based in (or willing to travel to) Cameroon
Desired but not required:
experience working with Development Organizations or INGOs.
Master’s degree in International Development, peacebuilding, social work, or other relevant field. **
