The British Red Cross (BRC) is currently looking for a Livelihoods Delegate, to support with the International Committee of the Red Cross ICRC's ambition to strengthen livelihoods activities in Extreme North Cameroon. The Delegate will be the focal point for conducting an in-depth livelihoods assessment. You will support decision-making and provide recommendations and guidance to the delegation for livelihoods support programs that will address the needs of the resettling IDPs and the vulnerable host communities. This assessment is expected to help the Economic Security Unit gather baselines and better understand and identify the most vulnerable groups i n order to better define suitable interventions for 2019. It will also have a focus on the adaptation/replication of a cash-based Social Safety Net project currently implemented by the ICRC, with the support of the British Red Cross in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). *

This position will be contracted by the British Red Cross in support of the ICRC. The international work of BRC is managed by an International Directorate of more than hundred and fifty people based in the organisation's UK Office in London and by staff employed overseas supporting BRC funded programmes and partnerships across the Middle East, Asia and African Continents.

Our International Directorate works in partnership with the wider Red Cross Red Crescent family: with some of the 190 National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies around the globe, the International Federation of the Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC).

The ICRC, in partnership with the Cameroonian Red Cross Society (CRCS) delivers humanitarian protection and assistance. Since the beginning of 2017, ICRC and the CRCS have been providing emergency food rations and essential household items to IDPs through in-kind distributions and unconditional cash transfers in several localities as part of their wider Livelihood interventions. *

We're looking for someone with : A degree in a relevant subject and relevant technical livelihoods knowledge
Knowledge of the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement and/or ICRC Experience in set-up and implementation of cash transfer programming (CTP)
Extensive working experience in food security, economic security and/or livelihoods programming in conflict, post-conflict and/or disaster contexts. Fluent in written and spoken French & English
Knowledge and/or experience of monitoring and evaluatio n for livelihoods, protection and/or humanitarian programmes Knowledge and/or experience of protection and assistance of conflict-affected populations in a humanitarian setting
Strong communication skills *

Previous experience of working for Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is desirable.

ICRC operational constraints

Candidates must possess a driving licence (for manual transmission vehicles) Candidates must be prepared to accept unaccompanied postings (i.e. no spouse, partner, children or dependents)
