Description of task

Under the direct supervision of Chief of Field Operations and Emergencies, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

  • To support the Humanitarian Affairs Specialist (HAS) in the planning, programming and follow-up of humanitarian response in
    conjunction with the sections
  • To consolidate the humanitarian situation report, including follow-ups with the sections and the field offices in coordination with
    the HAS
  • To support the management of the Emergency Technical Team meetings, including preparing the venue/agenda, taking the
    minutes and following up on the action points
  • To liaise with the field offices and sections that are internal to UNICEF, as well as with external agencies and organisations to
    collect, verify, and establish facts related to programmatic response, security situation and displacement, or any other relevant
    issues
  • To liaise with the monitoring and evaluation officers in the field offices and ensure that the tools including the response plans are
    updated in a timely manner
  • To ensure that the information sharing tools are well utilised and the content is updated.

Qualifications/Requirements

Required degree level: Master degree or equivalent

Education - Additional Comments:

International Humanitarian Assistance, International Development/Relations, Political Science or other social sciences.

Required experience: 24 Months

Experience remark:

Two years’ practical professional work experience. Background/familiarity with Emergency situations.

Language skills:

  • English(Mandatory), Level - Fluent
  • French(Mandatory), Level - Working Knowledge

Area of expertise: Emergency response, immediate relief operations, and post-conflict humanitarian aid operations, Other civil society or community development experience, Other development programme/project experience

Driving license: No

Competencies values:

Accountability, Adaptability and Flexibility, Working in Teams
