Role
We are looking for exceptional, highly experienced Education in Emergencies Specialist to join our Response in the East and Adamaoua Regions of Cameroon. You will be responsible for assessment, response analysis, design and implementation of the EiE & ECCD components of PLAN’s emergency response. You will co-ordinate with other Emergency Response team members and PLAN staff, especially Implementation Management, protection and other relevant technical sectors, to ensure a rapid, proportionate and effective response. In addition you will need to ensure response to immediate child education & ECCD issues with simultaneous consideration of longer term needs and possible scenarios. As a specialist you will take a very active role in technical co-ordination, support and advocacy with the country specific education Clusters and other stakeholders and technical agencies relevant to the sector.
Person
- Proven humanitarian Education in Emergency & ECCD in emergencies experience in the field.
- Proven work experience on ECCD activities in emergency
- Ability to define aims and objectives of the overall education in emergency program; develop project and implement it
- Ability to design and develop appropriate surveillance, monitoring and evaluation systems for education interventions.
- Experience with participatory approaches to education, emergency preparedness, crisis/emergency relief management, or other related area
- Knowledge of Sphere, the Red Cross/ NGO Code of Conduct, INEE desirable
- Excellent English & French oral and written communication skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of child development and the connections between the various sectors for young children’s holistic development.
- Proven experience in conducting training for parents and ECCD facilitators
- Experience on monitoring ECCD activities
- Ability to design and develop appropriate surveillance, monitoring and evaluation systems for education interventions.
Location: East and Adamaoua Regions- Cameroon
Type of Role: Fixed Term- 12 Months

Salary: Circa $50000 plus benefits
