Role and Responsibilities
The Country Coordinator bears the overall responsibility for the development, coordination, and implementation of the country program. It is a pioneering role building up new structures, developing new projects, finding new partners and personnel. The Country Coordinator has also some Program Management responsibilities for a limited period.
Specific tasks:
· Establish and manage a new Country Office
· Develop, support and safeguard the implementation of specific projects by working with new project managers within the country program framework
· Build up, coordinate and manage an evolving country program
· Representation of WHI in Chad
· Make a special efforts to acquiring institutional funding for the Chad program
Requirements
· Professional in the field of Public or Community Health and Management
· Familiar with clinical aspects of health services
· Familiar working with a human rights based approach.
· Minimum 3 years of international working experience in Public/Community/Clinical Health in Africa
· Minimum 5 years of experience in the management of program teams and offices
· Fluent in French, English and preferably German
· Demonstrates analytical and strategic planning skills including proficiency in project cycle management, narrative and financial reporting as well as monitoring and evaluation.
· Proven skills in capacity development, coaching and leadership
· Ability to network, coordinate and cooperate with partners, staff, government authorities, local communities and other NGOs and build strong mutual relationships
· Sensitivity to cultural differences, ability to adapt to the context and work under pressure
Three-year contract, extendable, starting January 2017 or according to mutual agreement. Adequate salary, social insurances, travel and accommodation expenses provided.
